Senator Jerry Hill presented Barry and Christina Ongerth, owners of The Dylan at SFO, with a resolution honoring their hotel as the Small Business of the Year for the 13th State Senate District on August 5, 2013.
The presentation at The Dylan, which is in Millbrae, follows the California Small Business Day celebration on June 10, in which small businesses and small business owners throughout the state were saluted by the Legislature, the California Small Business Association and 25 chambers of commerce at the Sacramento Convention Center.
Members of the Legislature had been invited to select a small business in their district to be honored on the occasion. Hill, who said The Dylan and its owners were standouts for special recognition, named the hotel as the 13th Senate District's Small Business of Year.
The celebration in Sacramento was for all the small business, which were honored as a group. The presentation on August 5 was for the owners of The Dylan and their staff.
"This is very special for us," said Barry Ongerth as he and Christina accepted the resolution. "We are so honored," Christina Ongerth added.
