Every year since 2009, the senior citizens at South San Francisco's Magnolia Center have made bags full of valentines for California servicemen and women with help from Jerry Hill. The project, which started when he was a member of the state Assembly, has grown each year.
Each year, Senator Hill honors a veteran of our nation's Armed Forces for outstanding volunteer service in California's 13th Senate District. View photos of the current Veteran of the Year and others from recent years here. Click on a photo to enlarge it and view its caption.

Families who have lost loved ones in accidents caused by drunk drivers, representatives for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and law enforcement partners have rallied in support of Senator Hill's legislation to require ignition interlock devices for all DUI offenders and expand California's four-county pilot program for IIDs to all 58 counties in the state.
