Senator Josh Becker Reacts to Governor’s Newsom’s AI Executive Order

Sacramento, CA—Today Senator Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park) issued the following statement in support of Governor Gavin Newsom’s enactment of an executive order on Artificial Intelligence:

“I applaud the Governor signing this important executive order, which adds one more crucial tool in regulating generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) here in California. This order compliments my legislative efforts to create sensible regulations on GenAI that apply guardrails to the emerging technology. As the state works to implement this executive order, I will continue to convene an AI stakeholder working group in the fall to develop legislative strategies on AI that protect all Californians, and I look forward to working with the Governor and this team.”
