SACRAMENTO, CA—After months of extensive budget negotiations, the Senate and Assembly announced an agreement on the 2023-24 fiscal budget, which protects the progress that California has made in previous years by preserving critical services, upholds California values, and implements responsible budget practices. This agreement satisfies the Legislature’s constitutional mandate to adopt a responsible and balanced budget for the fourth largest economy in the world.




SACRAMENTO—Today the California State Assembly Committee on Housing and Community Development voted unanimously to approve Senate Bill 341, authored by State Senator Josh Becker, which would stop penalizing/disadvantaging developers who bring affordable housing to, and the low-income families who need affordable housing in, less housing-friendly jurisdictions when these developers apply for affordable housing funding.




SB 362 Will Let Californians Take Control of Their Personal Information & Require Data Brokers to Delete Data

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Josh Becker’s (D-San Mateo) Delete Act advanced off the Senate floor with overwhelming support. The bill would allow Californians who want to control access to their personal information to hit the “delete” button when it comes to a data broker’s ability to collect and maintain information on them.
