Senator Josh Becker Named to 6 Key Legislative Committees

For Immediate Release

SACRAMENTO – Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins named Senator Josh Becker to four Senate committees today. The Peninsula Democrat is now a member of the Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee, the Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee, the Governmental Organization Committee and the Transportation Committee.

In addition, Senator Becker was named vice chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Climate Change Policies and a member of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. The joint committees are made up of members from the state Assembly and the Senate.

“I’m honored to serve on policy committees that focus on key issues for the people of the 13th Senate District and our State: economic development, transportation, accountability for government -- and especially energy and climate,” said Senator Becker. “As vice chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Climate Change Policies and as a member of the Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee, I will encourage innovation and new policies that will help California lead the fight against climate change in our country and the world.”

Senator Becker represents California’s 13th Senate District, which stretches from the San Mateo County cities of Pacifica and Brisbane to the city of Sunnyvale in Santa Clara County. He was sworn into office on December 7.
