Sacramento, CA–Today Senator Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park), Chair of Budget Subcommittee No. 2 on Resources, Environmental Protection and Energy, issued the following statement on the Senate’s budget votes on April 11:
“This week, the Senate took strong and swift action to address the budget shortfall while protecting the progress we have made on core programs. Our immediate actions reduce the shortfall by $23 billion and place California in a far better situation to responsibly pass a balanced budget in June. As chair of Budget Subcommittee No. 2, I am committed to protecting the most crucial investments in wildfire prevention and clean energy while making sure we are budgeting responsibly with outyears in mind.”
