Senator Becker to Announce Doubling of Coastal and Bayside Resilience Funding
Senator Josh Becker (D–Menlo Park) will hold a press event to announce a significant victory for California’s coastal resilience. Senator Becker successfully secured major increases in Proposition 4 funding in the FY 2025–26 budget, including:
- $62 million for coastal resilience (up from $31 million)
- $40 million for the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority Act & San Francisco Bay Area Conservancy Program (up from $20 million)
The expanded funding will accelerate shoreline resilience projects across the Bay Area, including nature-based solutions like the Colma Creek Adaptation Project and South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project. These efforts will protect vulnerable communities, jobs, and infrastructure from the growing threat of sea level rise.
