Pacifica pier shuts down due to unsafe conditions

The Pacifica Municipal Pier has been shut down on Thursday due to unsafe conditions, the city announced in a press release. Officials cited cracking, separation and “displacement of the concrete walkway and structural elements near the Pier abutment.”

The pier will remain closed indefinitely. No timetable for when the pier will reopen was released.

City engineering crews will assess the damage and determine the necessary repairs.
