Becker, Wiener back clean energy bills to cut electricity costs
State Sens. Josh Becker and Scott Wiener want California to lead on clean energy by incentivizing clean energy while helping residents with rising electricity costs at a time when the affordability crisis is reaching a breaking point.
During a press conference in Sacramento Monday, Becker, D-San Mateo, touted his local clean power legislation, Senate Bill 913, which would allow resources like home batteries and electric vehicles to supply power to the electric grid. Wiener, D-San Francisco, shared information on Senate Bill 868, which would make it easier for Californians to use plug-in solar systems anywhere in a house or apartment that gets sun.
