Sacramento, CA—Today Senator Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park) Mountain View Mayor Alison Hicks and Councilmembers Lucas Ramirez and Emily Ann Ramos to present a symbolic check in the amount of $1.5 million in state funds to the Community Services Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills (CSA) at its headquarters in Mountain View. This symbolic check represents a $1.5 million investment in state funds secured by Senator Becker from the Legislature to support measures that provide crucial social services. CSA Boardmembers Dan Rich and Jannie Quinn received the check on behalf of the CSA.
“The programs that the CSA of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills are even more important as we have seen job cuts in many industries - particularly across the high tech sector on which so many Silicon Valley families rely,” said Senator Becker. “Knowing that needs within our community continues to grow, CSA knew they needed to expand access to their programs and I am so proud to be able to support them in these efforts. With the support of my Legislative colleagues and Governor Newsom, we were able to secure $1.5 million in this year’s budget for renovations at this site and assist in the acquisition of an additional site for CSA’s Food and Nutrition Center.”
“I am very grateful for Senator Becker’s steadfast support for the most vulnerable members of our community, said Councilmember Lucas Ramirez. “The $1.5 million Senator Becker secured will help ensure the success of CSA’s capital campaign and allow CSA to better serve low-income families in Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills.”
The Community Services Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills has been providing social services to our community for more than 60 years. Through their financial assistance efforts, homelessness services and food & nutrition programs, CSA provides a crucial lifeline to our neighbors in need. The funds secured by Senator Becker, which are accompanied by $1 million committed by the City of Mountain View will go towards the CSA’s capital campaign and allow for the CSA staff to continue focusing providing services.
