HOUSING FOR OUR INDISPENSABLE TEACHERS ON THE PENINSULA
Last month, I hosted a virtual town hall on a critical issue/solution – building teacher housing on the Peninsula. We are having trouble recruiting and retaining great teachers because of the high cost of housing.
Last week, local community leaders, housing advocates, and San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan joined me to announce my bill that expands a proven model so that we can significantly reduce unsheltered homelessness.
With the election of Senate President pro Tempore Mike McGuire (D-North Coast) comes new leadership assignments in the Senate.
The Legislature is back in session, and I am in the process of introducing my 2024 legislation.
